Hi

I am using NI PXI 1031 chassis with 8106 controller. I require to make my pxi as a standalone device for measurement. I am using 6040E multifunction DAQ. I want to know whether the pxi can be disconnected from host and make standalone measurements without the host. If possible i want to know how??? I am using labview 2011 evaluation version, My system host has windows xp installed..

Yes you can make the RT as a stand alone system but it depends on how you have to take the data out from the controller because you will not have any display in the RT system. You can save the data inside the controller and use the ftp server to take the data out from the controller. Create the code from the host and make an exe and then deploy it and make it as startup then once you restart the controller your code will start to run. But am not sure you will be able to create an exe in Evaluation version. Contact NI for RT liscence.
