How can I synchronize two real time targets so both run at the same time?

I have two real time targets that I want to run two different simulations on.  One will be a simulation of an engine and the other will be a controller for that engine.  These simulations were created in simulink and imported into labview with SIT.  Both targets need to send and recieve signals to and from each other though analog I/O.  One target has a PXI-6723 for output and a PXI-6250 for input.  The other target has a PCI-6229 for both output and input.  How can I synchronize the startup and running of both targets so that they both run at the same time and speed?

Hi Eric,

Is this for any type of competition by any chance? Also, why do the controller and engine need to start and run at the same speeds? Doesn't an engine typically run on its own and wait for input from the controller?

As far as synchronization, are you trying to synchronize the DAQ cards, or the models themselves? When you say run at the same speed, do you mean always iterating at the same rate, or using the same acquisition/output rates?

Never mind, I figured out what I really needed to do.  Thanks for the help anyways.

Just to quickly comment. You may want to check out the Software Sync beta program. There will be a new version shortly which greatly improves performance.
