How to set environment variable on NI Linux

Hello everyone,

We are getting the following message regarding not having the environment variable set when running a 3rd party C code program using the system executable on a Labview VI. 

What is the procedure to set a global environment variable on the NI Linux platform? We have the cRIO-9035.
