I have an ethernet connected device that I can ping in the CMD window but NI MAX says that it is not present...
How do I get NI MAX to detect this device as Present?
Thanks
What am I missing?

I'm going to ask a basic IT question (questions that you're like... yes, I already did that). Did you verify that that IP address is not being used by something else? Unplug and ping?

What is the device that you are trying to connect to?
NI device ?
It is a custom amplifier designed by the company that I work for. This device can be communicated to by some utility software
but I wish to automate this with Labview. Because this is an ethernet device, it does not sow up in Windows 7 Device manager
and more importantly, it is not found in MAX.
The MAX screen shown below states that it is a TCP/IP VXI-11 Instrument. I know that it is a TCP/IP device but am not sure what a
VXI-11 instrument is...
Do I need some special driver for MAX to see this device?
Thanks again
