LabVIEW 2012 Installation Error Connecting to Server

Solved!
Go to solution

I am trying to reinstall LabVIEW 2012 after I.S. replaced my laptop.  The new laptop doesn't have a DVD, so they uploaded the DVDs and transferred the DVD files to a folder on my desktop.

Selecting the option to connect to NI to verify my serial number, I enter it and select "Next >>."  I immediately get an error message saying "An error occurred on the server.  Would you like to try again?"

That is as far as I can get.  If I click "Yes" I get the same error.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

(This is a Windows 7 computer)

Thank you,

Oxfat,

There could be a couple of issues going on because of the age of the LabVIEW install and because of the physical media it's being installed from. I believe the easiest process would be for you to generate an activation code based off your serial number which you can do with this website:

http://delta.ni.com/nilg-activate/jsp/customer_activate_details.jsp

Additionally, here's some other options on activation if you're still having errors:

https://www.ni.com/license/product_activation.htm

Lastly, here's National Instrument's official tutorial on activation in case you want to send this out to your company to prevent future issues:

Ali.  That worked!  Using the web interface option I was able to get an activation code.  I entered it in and was able to activate my license on my new laptop.

Thank you!
