Viability of a web interface hosted on cRIO

What I don't think will be a fun path to travel is getting a browser installed and running well on a cRIO (Unless it's a Windows controller). But that opinion mainly comes from never having tried.

After looking at two posts

https://forums.ni.com/t5/NI-Linux-Real-Time-Documents/Web-Based-Thin-Client-for-Embedded-UI/ta-p/350...

https://devs.wiresmithtech.com/blog/html-on-compactrio/

and trying 3 browsers Firefox v36 and v110 and epiphany on sbrio-9628 my conclusion is that memory and processor would just not be enough.

Firefox wouldn’t even launch, complaining about memory and epiphany launched but couldn’t even get it to pull up a google home page.

I think what I will do is to build a few http posts get methods to interact with our web api and just build a light interface into our embedded  LabVIEW UI .
