Closing Duplicate Idea Transfers Kudos to Original

This is for the Idea Exchange, so I wasn't sure where to put it. It sometimes takes a while to notice duplicate ideas and when we do everyone that Kudoed the duplicate has to go back and Kudo the original. In the spirit of "No Kudo Left Behind", can we just update the system to do that for us?

I like it but the best place for these types of ideas is the feedback forum.

Of course we need to somehow eliminate duplicates, i.e. users that kudoed both ideas should only count once.

I agree with this..
So the webpage when a post is flagged as duplicate should automatically do the following.

1. Find all the people who kudoed both messages. (The NI website already keeps a record of this - because it knows that I have already ticked something so should be easy to do)

2. Add up the unique number of users.. and this becomes the total kudoes for that idea
(we don't want to count kudoes twice - but we don't want to miss any either)

3. Notify each poster who kudoed each one or both that their kudoes have been consolidated into the original  - so they know why.

simple - The website manager could do this in about 5 mins!!!!
There's no reason not to do it.

Steve is correct in that the best place for this type of feedback is in the "Feedback for NI Discussion Forums" board in the Special Interest Board section. I have relayed this information to our vendor and will close this idea.
