Documenting VIs and Controls is a tedious, multiple mouse click operation. Consequently, many VIs and controls are undocumented - or worse, incorrectly documented after changes to the VI or Control without a corresponding update to the documentation.
The suggested solution is to allow the existing dialogs to float, much like the pop-up Context Help dialog, and to make them similarly context sensitive. The documentation for the active VI would appear in the VI Documentation dialog and the Documentation and Tip for the active control would appear in the Documentation and Tip dialog. Something like the push-pin in the Functions pallet would float the modal dialogs.
