LabVIEW crashes when calling network functions under Linux

Status: Declined

Filed as a bug

LabVIEW crashes randomly when network functions are used on Linux. This problem appears especially when many connections or files are open.

R&D has identified the issue but is evaluating wheter or not the issue will be resolved in future releases.

All the details are here :

https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/TCP-Allow-files-descriptors-gt-1024/m-p/4297433#M1255356

An example is attached.

Can you share the CAR for this issue?

Is it only on CentOS, I use LV 2020 on Ubuntu a lot and never faced this issue.

We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.

Hi Antoine,

The CAR is 2222186.

I have never tested on Ubuntu, but if you have the opportunity to test the VI attached, I am interested to know the result.

Thanks!

Hi,

I don't understand why this post is put in "declined" status, it's NI support who asked me to describe it in this LV Idea Exchange forum... (Request #: 01790080, CAR 2222186).

Is there any progress in this subject ?

Regards,

Mathilde

The Idea Exchange is supposed to be for new features, not bug reports.  But we do have an annual bug thread over in the Breakpoint: Annual bug thread for 2023
