Automatically create a folder for a project when you save it for the first time.

I create a new project and go to save it for the first time. When I chose a location to save my project, I want it to create a folder for all the project files at that location. Instead, it asks where I want to save the .lvprj file and saves that as well as two other files (.lvps and .aliases).

From my experience with other programming languages and development environments, I think it’s pretty standard to automatically create a project directory (in a folder) when you create and save a new project.

Couldn't you just right click and create new folder within the File Dialog window when you go and save the first time?

Yes, yes I could. But when I'm just making a quick example to test something I tend to forget. It's not a big deal, obviously, just a repeated minor annoyance. 🙂

I imagine that there are very few situations where you would not want a new project in its own folder.

In LabVIEW, I want something like the checkbox in Visual Studio for "Create directory for solution" when I create a new project or save it for the first time.Create directory.png
