Easily Copy Mass Compile Output

Status: New

Hi all,

I'm back with another minor workflow related request.

Can we please get a context menu option to copy all of the mass compile output to the clipboard?

Right now the usual key shortcut to select all (CTRL Shift End) does not work, such that the only way I can find to select all of the text is ye olde timey mouse cursor shuffle.

Thanks as usual,

Mr. Jim

Ctrl+shift+End worked for me just now. You have to click in the text box to give it focus first. I can see that having that shortcut just work without having to select first would be better. And the menu item would also be useful.

You can also triple-click in the string indicator to select everything.

Yeah, I do the triple-click + Ctrl-C thing a lot with the mass compile dialog. I see limited benefit to adding the right-click option.

Wow, such immediate high-profile responses. Thanks gentlemen, apparently I just wasn't doing it right.

Somehow over the years of learning key shortcuts, the triple-click evaded me. A brief search reveals a Wiki article that, sure enough, alludes to text selection in the limited repertoire of the triple-click operation.

Ugh. I figured out what happened with Ctrl+Shift+End. I'm not using my wireless keyboard today, and I forgot the f'n fn key. (Facepalm)  Special thanks to various laptop manufacturers for obfuscating it further.

Oh, well. I still don't think it's very intuitive, though I concede a bit on Darren's point.

Edit: In the past I may have manically quattuordecuple-clicked a few times in desperation, which technically includes a triple-click. I just didn't get to that level of desperation yet in this particular instance. ...So my main takeaway from this is that I should be less calm when using a mouse.

In the mass compile pop-up window you can also choose to write the output to a file.

That is what I always do as most of my mass compile actions are for Version Conversion board.

That is certainly the other way around this, but typically I don't remember to fill that log path out ahead of time. Hence the simplicity of just being able to copy and paste quickly.

Instead of a right-clic option to copy the text, I would suggest a button "save report to txt file" directly on the window.
