Expandable/Collapsible Clusters in Context Help

Status: New

When programming with large applications, often times you'll have clusters carrying a lot of information.  If you hover over the cluster wire and observe Context Help, you might see something like this:

ContextHelpOriginal.PNG

This Context Help window above is rather large and doesn't necessarily make it any easier to see the structure or contents of the cluster. My proposed idea calls for the ability to expand or collapse the cluster contents within the Context Help window, such as this:

What do you think?

Awesome, that's what I think.

Great idea.

Would a given cluster "remember" its view settings for the duration that LV is open? (Or perhaps the duration that the containing VI is open?) Might be nice if TypeDefs in general remembered their view settings, either persistently or at least for the duration that LV is open.

Good question, fabric. Perhaps there could even be a Properties section for the Context Help window (right-click --> Properties) where you could configure those options? Or maybe include it in the cluster Properties...

This is a duplicate of the very first idea that I posted on the exchange.

Oops! Right you are, Steve... With our powers combined, that's 111 kudos at the time of this posting. Not too shabby...

This is an awesome idea.  I once had the unfortunate experience of looking at the help on a "super class" - a class that contained every class known to man.  I had to scroll multiple times to see all of the data.

Actor Framework.lvlib:Actor.lvclass should be collapsed by default.
