LabVIEW 2021 had a public beta.  Is that what you are after or is there something more?

And, no, I haven't heard anything about a LabVIEW 2022 beta despite expecting a release in May with NI Connect.

Hi CY,

I'm also curious if you're looking for a public beta or something more? We will be moving LabVIEW to two major releases per year (with the next one, LabVIEW 2022 Q3, following NI Connect around mid-year as crossrulz indicated) so we are pausing the public beta for now as we re-adjust our release planning and consider the most effective venues/times to share pre-release capabilities and get product feedback/bug reporting.

Deborah,

Could you expand on what you mean by "two major releases per year"?  I do not consider the service packs to be a "major release" as they are mostly supposed to be bug fixes and maybe have some minor new features.

the idea is similar to that of a sneak preview, to allow signed up users to be able to try out the next version of LV, along with all other modules; to get to know all new functions/features, identify point of improvement (documentation wise, or the FP/BD related) or detect even bugs, before the actual release. one of the main motivation I am proposing this is to help LV developers (non-partners) evaluate which software to subscribe to in consideration of the new licenses.

would also like to propose rather than limiting the trial period (is it 7 days still?), which is insufficient to get to know the new version, try allowing developers test all functions of all modules, but use a time-limited runtime engine instead. subscribers can build application with the unlimited RTE. that may be better for some developers, just 2 cents.

cos for a subscriber, would want to know the full extent what the LV and its modules can offer to their customers and wouldn't want to come across any bugs (finding workarounds or awaiting fixes) during the limited subscription period.

I very much doubt that NI is wanting to make even more releases by creating two different runtime engines for use with code created in an unlicensed LabVIEW IDE and code created with a licensed one. That simply costs even more without bringing much. And the 7 day trial can still be extended to (I believe) 40 days, although you do have to sign up for that to create an account to ask for the extension.

Pretty much the same as when you want to register your Community Edition.

An insider program can allow users to evaluate if they want to subscribe or not, minimally; as user would need to plan their budget ahead of subscription, hence knowing what is going to be available during subscription period can help users decide when to subscribe optimally based on coming projects; especially if the user is not working for partner companies.

If a user subscribes to a software, I think it is fair for the user to have problem free usage during subscription period, an insider program can help in pre-release bug detection and improve the overall experience of the subscriber. Because if there is a bug detected during subscription period, and the temporary solution offered is a workaround, does it mean the subscription can be extended complimentarily for the user to implement the fixes in the future?

Perhaps someone familiar with the new licensing terms can chip in?
