Or rather, expand the functionality of the "Refnum to Path" primitive.
I just tried to wire this primitive to a Config File Ref, and it does not create a broken wire, it always seems to return <Not a Path>. This could be an issue that needs to be addressed separately (?).
I am changing the status from Completed to Declined because Completed should only be ideas that R&D see on Idea Exchange, actively developed on it based on the idea here, and it was added to the product.
The CAR database is NI's internal tool that keeps track of bugs reported by customers so we can actively work on them. Unfortunately there isn't an external facing way for you to check up on it's status. The readme file that comes out with each new product release will have a list of CARs (Corrective Action Request) that was fixed in that release and this is the best way to determine when the bug is fixed. While your idea definitely points out an issue with LabVIEW, a CAR is the more appropriate action for us to take on this.
